Calling all publication enthusiasts! This workshop will introduce participants to self-publishing. We will discuss the basics of printing and binding, techniques of production and distribution, and creative ways to connect with audiences. Participants will learn how to confidently use the equipment in our Publication Studio, and through a series of steps and teamwork, will make your own copy of the book to take home.

Together we will publish O DEATH, a collection of poetry, drawings, and music, by local artist Annie Martin, with French translations from Canadian poet and translator Erín Moure. This publication is part of Martin’s solo exhibition of the same title at the Trianon Gallery, which runs September 26 - November 13, 2020.

Publication Studio is a network of 11 studios spanning four continents, that prints, binds, and distributes books by hand, creating original work with artists and writers they admire. Founded in 2009 in Portland, Oregon, Publication Studio is intended as a social gathering place for people interested in publication, and the publishing of their own work, producing books one at a time on-demand, using a variety of means.
