MISSION
The Gallery fosters the work of contemporary artists who challenge boundaries. We encourage broad public engagement and promote awareness and exploration of artistic expression.  Our work extends to local, national, and international communities.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The N’we Jinan Art Skills for Success Work Experience Program is partnering with the Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin (the Gallery) to provide an Indigenous early-career individual interested in entry-level curatorial work experience as the Curatorial Assistant at the Gallery. This position will have the opportunity to be trained on industry standard skills, obtain knowledge relevant to their career goals and engage in new networking opportunities to advance their careers.

The Gallery is a Living Wage Employer in the Province of Alberta. This means we are committed to paying our employees a living wage that allows them to meet their basic needs and participate in their communities. A living wage is different from minimum wage in that minimum wage is mandatory and the same throughout the province while a living wage reflects what people need to cover the actual costs of living in their communities. Payment of a living wage is a voluntary commitment from employers to go beyond the minimum. For more information on living wages, visit The Alberta Living Wage Network  or contact coordinator@albertalivingwagenetwork.ca

VOLUNTEERING
The Gallery is always looking for passionate and committed volunteers. We have a variety of permanent and occasional opportunities available with a wide range of positions. Click here for the list and contact us if you have any questions.

EXHIBITION PROPOSALS
The Gallery’s exhibition program is conceived by the curatorial team up to two years in advance. We are rarely able to accommodate unsolicited exhibition proposals. If you choose to make a submission, you can do so by sending materials to Associate Curator & Exhibitions Manager Adam Whitford at awhitford@saag.ca. Due to the high amount of submissions we receive, we are unable to offer individual feedback.

BOARD MEMBERS
The Gallery’s Nominations Committee accepts applications for board members in advance to our Annual General Meeting. For all inquiries, please e-mail chair@saag.ca.
