GALLERY CODE OF CONDUCT

The Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all visitors, employees, and volunteers.

We expect everyone to treat one another with dignity and respect and strive to create a space free from violence, abuse, harassment, discrimination or other unacceptable behaviours.I

Individuals who do not abide by the code of conduct will be asked to leave the Gallery. If you experience or witness harassment or other behaviours that are creating an unsafe environment, please notify a Gallery staff member.

Thank you for helping us make the Gallery a safe space for all.

VISITOR GUIDELINES

  1. Visitors are not permitted to touch the artworks (unless otherwise indicated). 

  2. No food and drink is permitted inside any exhibition spaces.    

  3. Children under the age of twelve (12) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while at the Gallery. Those under the age of six (6) must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Strollers are permitted in all galleries unless otherwise indicated..

  4. Hand-held devices may be used to take non-flash photographs for personal use only (except where indicated). Tripods and commercial photography are not permitted in the galleries without prior approval.

  5. Any person or group exhibiting aggressive, abusive, harassing or threatening behaviour or language, including use of obscenities, displaying hate-related symbols, or evoking hatred in any way towards another person, will be asked to leave the Gallery. 

  6. Any person or group using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol or drugs on the premises will be asked to leave the Gallery.

  7. Soliciting or any activities that are disruptive or disrespectful to other visitors, staff, or volunteers are not permitted on Gallery property.

  8. Visitors shall not make a declaration or speech, create a media event or stage a photo opportunity without prior approval from the Gallery.  

  9. Weapons of any kind are not permitted on Gallery property.

  10. Visitors must be clothed and wearing footwear.

  11. Patrons are responsible for their personal belongings at all times. The Gallery is not  responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.
