IIKAAKIIMAAT is a short film following the life and work of artist Lauren Crazybull, directed by Conor McNally. As a Blackfoot and Dene artist, the film includes their personal story of resilience in the face of colonialism, while celebrating the brilliance of a young artist. Crazybull recounts their time in foster care and how the trials and tribulations of life in care affected their artistic practice. This screening is in partnership with Reconciliation Lethbridge, as a part of our series promoting Indigenous films.

"ôtênaw" is a film documenting the oral storytelling of Dwayne Donald, an educator from Treaty 6, Edmonton, Canada. Drawing from nêhiyawak philosophies, he speaks about the multilayered histories of Indigenous peoples' presence both within and around amiskwacîwâskahikan, or what has come to be known as the city of Edmonton.
