TINY PRESS WORKSHOP | LIBRARY CENTENNIAL PUBLICATION
FEBRUARY 25 | 6-8 MST | $20 | $15 SAAG MEMBERS | LIMITED IN-PERSON
Calling all publication enthusiasts! Join us for the inaugural TINY PRESS AT SAAG WORKSHOP. This workshop will introduce participants to self-publishing. We will discuss the basics of printing and binding, techniques of production and distribution, and creative ways to connect with audiences. Participants will learn how to confidently use the equipment in our Tiny Press Studio, and will make their own handmade book.
Together we will publish the Library Centennial Publication, Towards Real And Permanent Good: Reflections on the Centennial Anniversary of the Lethbridge Carnegie Library Building, a collection of art, writing, and archival material that commemorates the history of the building as a library and gallery.
Tiny Press at SAAG is a handmade bookmaking studio at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Tiny Press prints, binds, and distributes books by hand, creating original work with writers and artists of the region, about topics that are important to us. Tiny Press is a community resource, and social gathering place for those interested in learning about publication, and connecting with others through a DIY mentality.
NOTE: Stations will be sanitized and allow for social distancing. Visitors to the Gallery must wear a mask, and everyone aged 12 and over must provide proof of vaccination, proof of exemption, or proof of a negative PCR test within 72 hours of in-person attendance.
