Entertainment

The Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin is thrilled to host a performance by hip hop, R&B artist Mauvey as part of this year’s Art Auction.

A self-described “highly energized, emotional wreck on stage,” Mauvey’s raison d’être is to create and generate Love, both on and off stage. “My message will always be Love,” says Mauvey, who has designed his projects of Love through the creative narratives of intentional songwriting, intelligent melody, and hypnotic beat. “My mission is to distribute Love, and there’s no better way to do that than through music.”

Born in Ghana, West Africa, Mauvey grew up in the UK and Vancouver, BC. As an artist, performer, and songwriter, Mauvey uses a hip hop, R&B, and soul filter on his unique style of alternative pop music, with reflective influences of Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Oumou Sangaré, Prince, Childish Gambino, The Weeknd, Andre 3000, and Labrinth.

Mauvey’s mixtape, “The Florist,” dropped in December 2021 after several double single releases. The tracks have received tremendous praise from worldwide press, music aficionados, and the industry alike.
