The Southern Alberta Art Gallery is pleased to announce the launch of our newest community-based initiative Welcome to My World. Coinciding with our Grand Opening celebrations, this new program brings together a chorus of voices from Southern Alberta through the form of video narratives. Watch the videos on Youtube.
Welcome to My World was conceived with the long-term focus of assembling the stories of our communities, and of our youth in particular, through regular education events and video storytelling workshops. With accessibility and preservation being vital to its success, the program makes use of innovative new technologies including Quick Response bar codes.
On the weekend of the Grand Opening, we invite all members of the community to take advantage of the free video storytelling workshops at the gallery and contribute to what will become an ongoing and dynamic portrait of Southern Alberta.
