A RETROSPECTIVE | NORMAN MCLAREN

To commemorate the 101st birthday of the late Scottish-born Canadian animator and film director Norman McLaren, SAAG Cinema is screening a retrospective of his work from the National Film Board of Canada in our discovery room.  A master and innovator of film and music, his body of work captures the spontaneity and movement of life.  Norman McLaren's innovative spirit allowed him to make exciting headway in animation and filmmaking techniques such as drawn on film animation, visual music, graphical sound, pixilation, and abstract film.  This pioneer's synesthetic work would win him an Oscar and Palme d'Or.  Don't miss out on this collection of seminal works by a Canadian film legend:
