WELCOME DANA INKSTER This spring educator and media artist Dana Inkster joined the gallery team in the newly created position of Manager of Public Programs and Education. Over the course of the coming months Dana will examine the galley’s public programming to ensure that we are meeting the objectives of our mandate: to encourage broad public engagement and promote awareness and exploration of artistic expression. Dana brings 15 years of experience in developing cultural community projects at the local, regional, national and international levels in the not-for-profit, public and private sectors. She holds degrees in Political Studies, Communications and will complete her M.A. in Education in 2010. Dana’s work has won critical acclaim and awards in Canada and internationally. Her films and videos have been exhibited and acquired by educational institutions throughout Canada and around the world. Dana has worked and taught in community education and post-secondary settings for many years. Since arriving in Lethbridge in 2005 Dana has been busy writing and directing documentaries and participating in local cultural activity. Community development and art and culture are her passions and we are delighted to welcome her to the Southern Alberta Art Gallery. |
